  • Yes! Blue oyster mushrooms are just about the easiest mushroom there is to grow.

  • It's essential to ensure that you thoroughly cook your fresh fungi using heat. If you're trying this particular species for the first time, it's wise to begin with a small portion to check for any potential allergies, even if the mushrooms are cooked.

  • As mushrooms mature, they release spores as part of their natural reproductive process. This mechanism allows them to spread and propagate. However, individuals with allergies or weakened immune systems might want to consider relocating their fruiting mushroom kits outdoors or to a well-ventilated area during this spore-releasing stage, which occurs close to harvest time. In some cases, the spores in mushrooms can cause respiratory irritation, and occasionally even non-allergic or non-immunocompromised mushroom cultivators may experience irritation from these spores. If you fall into this category, it is advisable to minimize the spore concentration by harvesting the mushrooms while they are still in their early growth stages. They will still be delicious to eat at a younger stage!

  • Mushroom grow kits will be shipped out by November 15th! It’ll be worth the wait!

  • Mushrooms need light, humidity, and airflow to be healthy. As a rule of thumb, if your mushrooms are too pale, they likely need more light; if they are too stringy, they likely need more air; and if they are too dry, they likely need more humidity - so spritz away!
